Wise Owl Paint Wisdom for PRO Results

• Do not overwork. Lay down enough paint so that it has enough product to self-level but avoid drips.
• Do not use Wax over Enamel.
• The recommended recoat time is 2 hours.
• Use our Stain Eliminating Primer before for superior adhesion.
• Use a microfiber 3/16 inch roller.  If spraying, you may thin with water if needed but not more than 10%.
• If using Glaze over Enamel, no need to use Varnish first. Apply glaze right over enamel. Must seal the glaze with Varnish or Clear OHE.
• Do NOT use clear shellac as a primer with One Hour Enamel! It will cause the paint to crackle.

ONE HOUR CERAMIC is self-priming on drywall and cured plaster or masonry substrates, bare metal or wood should be primed with Wise Owl Stain Eliminating Primer. The ONE HOUR CERAMIC is a durable low odor, low VOC product making it perfect for any room in your home. The luxurious matte finish combines a satin smooth finish with the depth of color typically found in enamels.

SURFACE PREPARATION: Surface must be dry and free of dirt, oils, and loose flaking paint. This product will adhere with ease to most surfaces that are clean, dry, and dull. When priming is needed, Wise Owl Stain Eliminating Primer is recommended.

APPLICATION: Stir thoroughly before using. ONE HOUR CERAMIC may be applied by brush, roll or airless spray. To achieve the best results use a high quality synthetic brush and 3/8” nap woven roller cover. Flow on generously, brushing lightly from the unpainted into the painted areas. For spray application, this product may be thinned with water NOT TO EXCEED ONE PINT PER GALLON.

CLEAN UP: Clean brushes and roller in soapy water immediately after painting.

TECHNICAL DATA: Recommended spreading rate is 350 to 400 sq. ft. per gallon. Finish will dry to the touch in approximately 1 hour. Another coat can be applied within 4 hours. Do not apply when surface temperature is below 50 degrees F. Thin sparingly with water.

Cling On Brush Care -Keep string intact on round and oval styles.  They are designed to preserve brush shape and are durable enough to withstand brush cleaning. -Before using, let your brush “get its feet wet”.  Allow the tips of the bristles to suspend in water.  Wring out lightly before use or spin to remove most of the water.  While painting, it may be beneficial to dip the tips in a little water to keep the paint from drying on the bristles and to produce the smoothest finish. -Cling Ons are designed to be used and stored wet.  This feature contributes to the brush stroke-free and flawless finish.  This also prevents the paint from drying on and damaging your bristles.  The life expectancy of a Cling On brush surpasses other brushes for this reason. -When not in use, return the brush filaments to water (just the tips), do not saturate the head or handle of your brush in water.  Allowing the bristles to rest on the bottom of the container can disfigure them, so use a Cling On brush holder or engineer your own.  Start by using a jar with enough water to suspend the bottom of tips in, and a clip to hold the handle so that the tips keep from resting at the bottom of your container. -When you are finished painting you may rinse with water or just return your brush to your brush holder to let the tips suspend in water, the paint will just slide off of the bristles.  A light rinse before use may be necessary and make sure to change out your water as needed.  If necessary, soap and water cleanup is acceptable if the paint has been allowed to dry on your bristles.

Tips:

Apply the glaze to your project after your final coat of paint has dried completely and you have applied either one coat of our Varnish or One Hour Enamel Clear (allow paint to dry 24 hours before applying the top coat). For best results, lightly sand your painted piece, brush on glaze in sections and then use a damp lint-free cloth to remove the excess. Allow glaze to fully dry for 2 hours. Glaze produces a strong finish, but to fully protect it our Varnish or One Hour Enamel Clear may be applied over the glaze. Wearing gloves can prevent temporary staining.
